Our Rooms

On the second floor, The Abby boasts a comfortable sitting area, Queen-size bed, cable television, air conditioning, wireless internet, and a spacious bathroom with a combined shower and tub.

Named after the famous Scottish poet, The Burns sits conveniently on the first floor and overlooks the expansive front lawn and gardens. Its lovely corner location - with three large sunfilled windows bathing the room in natural light - offers a Queen-size four-post canopy bed, private bathroom with tub and shower, fireplace, air conditioning, wireless internet and cable TV.

When we first opened in 1987, this cozy little room was known simply as "The Yellow Room". After it was given a new look, we thought it needed a new name to match. When our friend suggested Flora MacDonald, we'd never heard of her - despite her being rather famous for helping the rebellious Bonnie Prince Charlie escape capture by his enemies. But suddenly we began seeing her everywhere, from our local Highland Festival, to books our friends owned. A portrait of her even hung in an estate we toured in Australia. It seemed Ms. MacDonald was asking to be included, and so the name was settled. The Flora is located on the second floor, features a Queen and a Twin bed, a private bath (shower only), fire place, air conditioning, cable TV, and wireless internet.

Named for Mary Queen of Scots, The Stuart also lies conveniently on the first floor, offering easy passage to both main entrances as well as premier access to the early morning coffee, or homemade cookies and brownies we lay out in our Library. It too sits on a corner wing of the house, and has several large windows that can fill the room with natural light. It offers a four-post canopy queen-size bed, private bath (shower only), air conditioning, fireplace, cable TV, and wireless internet.

The Rose Cottage, with vaulted ceilings and its own entrance, is nestled in a quiet wing of the main building. It offers a King-size white iron and brass bed, private bath (shower only), air conditioning, fireplace, cable TV, and wireless internet. Slip out the french doors and sip your coffee on the newly re-designed private back patio.

Located on the second floor the Annie Laurie has a Queen size bed, and private bath (shower only). It offers a gas fireplace to keep you warm and cozy on those cold winter nights, and has air conditioning to keep you comfortable in the summer. Nights here are crisp and the windows, which open to both sides of the house, provide a wonderful cross-breeze in warm weather. Curl up with a book in the arm-chair or antique rocker, enjoy some TV, or surf the high-speed internet.
